Its been a while

Been busy, I miss having time for life D:

I've always loved any concept art involving horses but I never know how to draw them myself. So to try and alleviate this problem I made myself draw lots of them.

I also refused to use any reference for this so I wouldn't become reliant on it, but get the knowledge down and set in my mind. Hopefully I shouldn't have any problems in the future!

Was aiming to do epic castle with epic horses and general epicness but somehow ended up with fairytale princess kindgom land (epic?)

My classroom, where dreams come to be realised. Or get crushed and die terribly.

Bouncing some ideas around for an environment based on a plant lab. Couple preps, colour test and a sketch out for a final. Instagrammmmm!

Really glad to say that I'm all done with school as my course doesn't support 2D artists, so now I can afford to spend a little more time on my work :D

After a few crits fixed the perspective (though it's probably still wrong (too many vanishing points D: ))
Something needs to go above the H sign but I'm tired of this and want to move on to next.

Composition speedy. Perspective etc doesn't make sense but just playing around with shapes.

My first go at a sci-fi scene. Made an effort to work on form over detail. Hooray for backlit!

Had lots of fun with this one. Planes have an awesome silhouette - great for playing around with rim lights.

Trying to get some quick ones done to establish mood and 'not care' or more so worry less about detail etc. Not really liking these, lots of unnecessary brush marks and composition issues but oh well learning curve.

This one is inspired by my road trip to Vegas. What an amazing drive. You could see the light pollution miles away from behind the mountains (headed from the eastern NV-AZ border).

Playing around with the whole warm orange backlight business. Was going to add a blue light but I quite liked purple shadows. Plus it ended up super messy.

I have zero confidence with painting people, therefore soft brush everything and worry too much. It just feels so delicate and the slightest incorrectness in light or positioning of facial features and it looks completely wrong. This is not the way I like to paint but heres a first of many and hopefully I will loosen up soon.
